Before you can start splitting you keywords, you need to decide which keywords you want to split and in which projects you want them into.
The keyword splitter is mostly used to split a general keyword list into more specialized keyword lists. This is a good method to increase ROI in ex. Adwords because a more target landing page increase conversion, organic traffic and lower click price etc.
The page is split into two parts.
Add Keyword lists to split
In the first part you import the keywords you want to split into other keywords projects.
You can add the keywords by the same four methods as you use when you import keywords into a project.
Add good keyword list(s): Left click on the Good keyword list(s) you want to add. They will be added to you left. If you regret just unmark the first box.
You have to decide if you want to keep the keywords in the keyword list.
If you don’t mark (default)“Move words”, the keyword you split into other keyword projects will stay in the original keyword list.
If you mark “Move words”, the keyword you split into other keyword projects will be deleted from the original keyword list.
Many people don’t mark the “Move words”, when they are marking a new keyword project and are using related keyword project to build the seed list.
In other cases people have an Adword campaign that they want to make more specific. They take the general project and split it into different lists. They mark “Move words”, because they don’t want the same keywords in different keyword lists.
When you decide to move or not to move the keywords, try to think if you still need the keywords you move in the original keyword list?
Import keywords lists
This works the same way when you start a new project.
Box: Write or paste one keyword per line. Is uploaded when you press the bottom upload button.
Browse: Find a text file in you computer and upload it. If you regret you can unmark the box next to the file name.
URL: Specify at url where you have a .txt file and press import. If you regret you can unmark the box next to the file name.
